What is the Senior Handyman Program?
Do you need help with simple home maintenance, to make your home safer and easier to live in? The Senior Handyman Program is available to residents of Palatine or Wheeling township who are age 60 or over. The Northwest Suburban House Collaborative (NWSHC) developed the Handyman Program for Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Mount Prospect, Palatine, and Rolling Meadows. The NWSHC partnered with and provided funding for North West Housing Partnership (NWHP) to administer the program for senior residents in these communities in 2014.
Recently, NWHP has been able to expand this program to now include Des Plaines and all communities in Palatine and Wheeling Townships! If you are unsure which township you are in, NWHP can assist you.

Where We Work
Who is Eligible
Age 60+ residents of Palatine or Wheeling Townships. Senior Handyman program can only assist with minor home repairs, absolutely no emergency repairs. However, the repairs are done and insured by reliable professionals.
How much does it cost?
Fees are either $10, $20, or $30 an hour depending on the income level of the individual! Most participants fall in the $10 or $20 per hour categories, however incomes around 40K-45K may fall into the $30 an hour range. In some cases, the fee may be waived completely if it's not affordable to the participant. The cost of this program is determined on a case by case basis.
